Why A Shower Panel will provide the Utmost Showering Experience

shower panel

Increase your health and value of your home at the same time

Would you enjoy a wonderful shower experience?

If you don’t have the room for a large luxury shower, a shower panel will give you all of the functions and performance of a large shower in a much smaller amount of space.

A shower panel allows you to change your existing shower enclosure into a heavenly shower, with features that you would never imagine. A standard shower panel contains a fixed shower head, a hand held shower, and massaging body jets.

If you think that a shower panel with all of its features might take up alot of the room in your existing shower space, it doesn’t.  The panel uses height rather than width, a technology that is space saving.

Another feature of a shower panel is easy installation.  Separate installation of all the features of the panel is not necessary. Just hang the shower panel on the wall and connect the hot and cold water supplies and you are ready to enjoy the pleasures of your new installation.

Luxurious showers are not the only reason to purchase a shower panel. The good looks alone will raise the value of your bathroom. There are many different styles and features of bathroom shower panels to choose from, and surely, one will be suitable for your needs and bathroom decor.

Increase home value starting with your bathroom

Increase your home's value and enjoy your new bathroom until it sells

One of the most important rooms in any home is the bathroom

If you are considering adding a bathroom  or  upgrading or enlarging an existing bathroom, there are several good reasons for doing so.

Here are some of the basic reasons people remodel their bathroom:

1. It is a good investment to increase the value of a home: The size, condition, and placement of the bathroom fixtures is often a major consideration in the decision to purchase a home.

In terms of return on your investment with a bathroom remodel, when you
sell your home, in most instances you can expect to recover the majority of your investment or even more.

2. The bathroom needs repair: Over a period of time, all bathrooms show signs of wear and tear and aging of materials.

The need to make repairs is often a good reason to completely remodel a bathroom. While the repairs are the main focus of the remodel, other features can also be updated such as a new toilet, steam shower, walk in bathtub, and modern vanity.

3. The color of bathroom fixtures appear to be ugly or out-dated: The bathroom that was modern sometime in the past is long gone. Bathroom decorating colors change every three to five years. Whether you dislike the color scheme of your bathroom or you just want a change, a bathroom remodel might provide the fresh appearance you want.

4  Styles in fixtures and surrounds change over time: Builders often use low quality fixtures at the time of construction. A previous homeowner may have redecorated the bathroom in a way that is unappealing to you.  This is another reason you may want to remodel and modernize your bathroom.

5. Your family needs more space in the bathroom: Today, big bathrooms are a desired trend in new home construction. You may want to enlarge your bathroom to make it more appealing to potential buyers, or you may just feel a need for more space. The master bath may not be large enough to accomodate two people, or the second bathroom is not large enough to accomodate teenagers in a hurry.

6. Bathroom safety is an issue: Thousands of accidents and injuries happen in bathrooms every year. Whether you are thinking of your children, yourself, your parents, or your future needs, a safety upgrade in the bathroom is also a reason for remodeling.

For the above reasons, and also for comfort and beauty that will be enjoyed by the entire family, a bathroom remodel is a win, win, situation.

Toilets Through the Ages

Flush toilets and the history of toilets

Did you know that the average person spends 3 years of their life on the toilet? As with any other inventions, the flush toilet took a long time to develop. So, instead of one name and date, there is a list of significant contributors to the history of the flush toilet.

Modern flush toilets consist of a bowl fitted with a hinged seat and are connected to a waste pipe where waste is flushed. Toilets are also called: privy, latrine, water closet, or lavatory. Contrary to urban legend Sir Thomas Crapper did not invent the toilet.

Timeline of Toilets: (According to research by Mary Bellis)

  • King Minos of Crete had the first flushing water closet recorded in history and that was over 2800 years ago.
  • A toilet was discovered in the tomb of a Chinese king of the Western Han Dynasty that dates back to 206 BC to 24 AD.
  • The ancient Romans had a system of sewers. They built simple outhouses or latrines directly over the running waters of the sewers that poured into the Tiber River.
  • Chamber pots were used during the middle ages. A chamber pot is a special metal or ceramic bowl that you used and then tossed the contents out (often out of the window).
  • In 1596, a flush toilet was invented and built for Queen Elizabeth I by her Godson, Sir John Harrington.
  • The first patent for the flushing toilet was issued to Alexander Cummings in 1775.
  • During the 1800s, people realized that poor sanitary conditions caused diseases. Having toilets and sewer systems that could control human waste became a priority to lawmakers, medical experts, inventors, and the general public.
  • In 1829, the Tremont Hotel of Boston became the first hotel to have indoor plumbing, and had eight water closets built by Isaiah Rogers. Until 1840, indoor plumbing could
be found only in the homes of the rich and the better hotels.
  • Beginning in 1910, toilet designs started changing away from the elevated water tank with a pull chain into the modern toilet with a close tank and bowl.

Now that you know the history of toilets, see the best modern toilets with high quality, one piece construction, and with the latest designs and technology. All feature low water consumption with a contemporary look.

Do you know this about whirlpool bathtubs

Do something good for yourself

Whirlpool bathtubs

Whirlpool tubs first became popular in America during the 1960s and 70s. A spa or hot tub is also called a “jacuzzi” since the word became a generic after plumbing component manufacturer Jacuzzi introduced the “Spa Whirlpool” in 1968. Air bubbles may be introduced into the nozzles via an air-bleed venturi pump.

What Are the Benefits of Using the Whirlpool?

As researched by: Myrna St. Romain, a whirlpool tub contains a swirling body of water. It has jets that project water in a flowing, circular motion. It offers a wide array of health benefits, including relaxation, improved blood circulation and sore muscle and joint relief.

A whirlpool bathtub’s effect on stress relief

Whirlpool bathtubs provide an extra level of stress relief over regular bathtubs. According to the American Psychological Association, one-third of people in the United States experience extremely high stress levels. Whirlpool bathtubs have massaging jets embedded in the sides of the tubs that help relax your body and mind. Not only does this provide immediate stress relief, but using a whirlpool before bed may also help you sleep better.

A whirlpool tub for better circulation

The combination of warm water and massage jets in a whirlpool promote better blood circulation. They help your blood vessels dilate, or open up, allowing more oxygen and nutrients to flow to major organs. This is particularly beneficial to those who have arthritis. Improved circulation can encourage better movement and less pain and stiffness in your joints.

A whirlpool bath – Sore muscle & joint relief

The high-pressure massage that a whirlpool provides can aid in sore muscle and joint relief. You can direct the jets to the site of pain, and the water jets can act as a deep-tissue massage. It can also help heal sports injuries, prevent muscle spasms and speed recovery time. Use a whirlpool one day after a hard workout if you experience soreness.

Flexibility

Do simple stretches in a whirlpool to increase your muscular flexibility. The American Council on Exercise recommends doing stretches to warm up your muscles and help muscles become more pliable. Improving your flexibility will lessen the likelihood that your muscles sustain injury and helps increase your range of motion.

Benefits of a walk-in bathtub

Soak and enjoy

How something as simple as using a walk-in bathtub can benefit your health

A recent study shows that 70 percent of employed Americans suffer stress-related conditions, including anxiety and insomnia. By using a walk in tub, you can reduce stress and relax.

Sleep better

According to the National Sleep Foundation, by immersing yourself in hot water for 15 minutes before bedtime, your body temperature rises and enhances your ability to fall asleep faster.

Improve cardio health

A recent study at the Mayo Clinic found that soaking in a hot bath gives many of the health benefits of exercise with less strain on the heart. Soaking in a hot bath increases the heart rate while it lowers blood pressure, rather than raising it as do other forms of exercise.

More benefits of a walk-in bathtub

These walk-in bathtubs offer a highly desired sense of independence to those who have previously been dependent on someone else for every need. They enable the user to safely undress, bathe, and dress without full dependence on the aid of a nurse or assistant. These tubs make the possibility of independent living a reality for many non-ambulatory users.

Considerations

A key benefit of the more compact designs of these tubs is that they take far less space than most common bathtubs do, while offering better stability and higher safety levels. A wide range of shapes, depths, and sizes also allow for a wide range of choices so that you can find the walk-in tub that best fits your needs and decor..
